In the first “About Me” post…you met my family…

My wife of over 15 years, Dawn.

My oldest son, Justin.

And my youngest son, Austin.

These three people are very dear to me, and the reason I work out of the home.  I absolutely love spending time with my family.  Kinda makes it all worthwhile.

Now…

On to what brought me to marketing consulting and success in business.

It all started in September, 1989.  As a 15 year old high school student…I was looking for a part time job.  Just a job for temporary purposes…or so I thought.

I ventured down to my local auto parts store, Al’s Auto Supply.  I can remember the first interview, as clear as day.  I actually interviewed for my first job in shorts and a tank - top shirt.  I cannot figure out how I landed that parts counter position without dressing properly for the interview…but nontheless…I started work the next day.

And so started my education in business.

I quickly rose through the ranks at Al’s, and became one of the youngest Assistant Managers in company history.  I was 17 when I first got promoted.

And so started my first failure in business.  Man was it a doozy.  I was simply not ready to manage people yet.  Perhaps my maturity level was not there, maybe because it was my first promotion…whatever the case may be…

I was demoted back to full time counter sales just about as quickly as I was promoted.   Something inside me said “you have to learn what it takes to manage people and get back in the game.”

I am glad I listened to that voice inside of me, as I was ready to give it all up and move on to another company in another job.  But I didn’t.

And so, in 1993, I was promoted again.  But more than that…companies started to recruit me.

Why?

I was always looking for ways to do things better, faster, more successfully.  And it had a positive impact on the stores I worked in, the teams I had managed.  In 1995, a company called Genuine Parts recruited me to work in a store starting as a full time counter sales…at a higher rate of pay than I was making at Al’s.

My first opportunity to understand that I could not make the kind of money I wanted working for someone else.

From 1996 - 2001 I focused on three things…

1)  Studying success principles (the first time I read Think and Grow Rich cover to cover).

2)  Studying everything I could get my grubby paws on about copywriting and marketing (I had always been attracted to and very successful in marketing businesses that I ran as a Manager).

3)  Making as much money as I could working for someone else (futile effort), and forming the foundation for what would become my first business offline (I started the foundation for the online marketing plan more towards 2000, but would not actually start marketing online until 2006).

And in September 2001…I started my offline business as a marketing/success coach, and offline copywriter.

Learning every step of the way.  Then, my breakout year came…

In June 2006, I re - evaluated my offline business and decided to add an online element.  I also had, in February 2006…authored the first few posts on The Profitable Business Edge Blog.  That blog has since had over 10,500 visitors…and now has over 65 posts (articles).

That will also be the branded name of a book that I will be authoring towards the beginning of 2008.

Back to the story, in August of 2006 I had taken on a couple of mentors in online copywriting.  I wanted to learn the finer points of online copy specifically.  Both Ryan Healy, and Shaune Clarke have made enormous contributions to my success online.  I respect both of them dearly.

Fast forward to the current day…and a little about my style as a marketing consultant.

One term describes it…no holds barred.

There is absolutely no room for guessing in your business, ever.  So…one thing unique about my style is I will NOT tolerate inactivity on your part in implementing the marketing strategies outlined in the system I use to improve a business’ marketing process and get you results (your part consists of about 10% of the effort required to execute).

It means too much to me, and to yourself, in working together to provide you life-changing results for your business.

There is no room for inactivity, only striving to make the necessary changes in your business to deliver what I guarantee in my Hidden Marketing Assets system.

Notice I did not only focus on profits in any of that statement.  There is much more to success than just profits…although that is an integral part of enhancing your business.

But enough about that…I want to thank you for reading both parts to the short version of my story.  I hope that it gave you insight into who I am, and what I stand for.

For doing so…you can claim a free report “How To Double Your Business In 90 Days” at http://www.profitpartnersconsulting.com

Be sure to save that website…as there is a 45 minute presentation that gives you access to much more priceless information.

To your success in business…
