It truely is…

I mean, what other business can you start where you are in complete control of your life and make money at the same time?  No commute, no boss, time with the family, no set schedule…work when you want and the sky is the limit.

In order to gain all of the advantages though…

You have be extremely disciplined in your work time versus your non - work time.  You have to realize that you do not get paid just because you put in 4 - 10 hours…you only get paid for results.  With kids and a significant other, along with friends, neighbors, etc…it can be a challenge to be this disciplined.  So here are my tips to help you get on track:

  • Set hours to work each day, whatever those hours may be.  They could be different hours each day…but make a plan and stick to it, letting everyone in your household know when your working.
  • Don’t get trapped into surfing the ‘net.  This is a big one that sucks productive time away from you.  If your not working on the internet, stay off of it while you are making calls or other productive work.
  • Organize your home office.  Take a few seconds everyday to clear off the desk, put papers in the filing cabinet (use it, file it, or throw it away) and prepare a mini - plan for the next day.

These are just a few ideas to get you started.  The main idea here is work is work, and home is home…even though they may be in the same place it is still important to separate the two.
