I Was Finally Able To Secure JosephRatliff.com

Always secure your name in a .com suffix if you’re an avid online user.

For marketers, this is critical…but even if you only operate a personal blog…more of your stuff online will be found if someone searches your name in Google.

For example, you can search “Joseph Ratliff” with or without the quotes…and http://josephratliff.com is sure to be in the top 5 or higher…because the .com name, plus the keywords joseph and ratliff are both together within the domain name.  My other site at http://josephratliff.name is also ranking highly, but I am sure as the .com version ages…it will outrank my PR3 blog.

Check it out for yourself…and go rent your name as a .com domain today!

What You Can Do When Your Sick If You Have A Home-Based Business…

Posted on March 13th, 2008 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I am sick as a dog (does that mean that dogs are always sick? Cool).

But…

One of the advantages to having a home-based business is you can “call in sick” if you need to.

The boss shouldn’t mind ;) .

I have 4 things that I usually take care of, in addition to myself, when I am sick at home…

  1. I read books on my profession (marketing, copywriting, internet business, etc…).  This is a good time to catch up on reading through that pile of magazines that you “will get to someday” as well.
  2. I do “tax-related” stuff.  Why do it when you have energy?  As long as you use a calculator, you don’t need to be totally coherent.
  3. I write blog posts about being sick.
  4. I make contact with old acquaintences to strike up future business.

This is a short list.  What the heck else do you want to do while you’re sick?
